Naomi Our Baby Girl

Look at this cutie! That's are 6 month old Naomi Ambriz.  This post will be all about her.  We have a lot of videos of her that we definitely need to put on YouTube.  I'll have Rebekah get around to doing that this week.

Naomi started teething this past week, but she's been a trooper.  She's even been a little sick, but still manages to be a happy girl.

She loves eating Ritz Crackers, Graham Crackers, and Puffs.  She's learning how to eat on her own and she also plays with her toys.  I love seeing her investigate and analyze her toys.  She looks at every detail when playing with them.

Snuggling with her is the best!

She's the best for Sunday naps.

And is super cool!

She's growing up so fast and learning new things everyday. We love our little Naomi.

V Day with the Wifey

This year for Valentine's Day I decided to keep it traditional and I had dozen red roses in a vase, a teddy bear, and chocolate in a heart shape box along with a love note sent to Rebekah at work.  We also both took the day off so on Thursday we spent the night at 5th East Hall in American Fork.

The next day we went shopping and I got Rebekah a new side bag and hat.  We then went bowling, eat ice cream, and experience 24 hours without the girls.  It was an awesome Valentine's Day.

Rebekah is an awesome wife and mommy.  She does her best to make sure everyone is happy in the Ambriz Family. She made her own baby wipes to save money, cooks awesome foods, does arts and crafts with Veronica, and reads to her a lot.  She does all these things will putting up with me and working full-time.

These are some buttons I got at work this week.  Each one represents an activity we do at work.  I'm a big fan of buttons and want to get my own button making machine one day.

Visit The Dentist

Veronica looks so cool at the dentist. She does a great job at taking care of her teeth, thanks to Rebekah.

As a kid I was bad at taking care of my teeth and as an adult I do a little bit better.  But my visit to the dentist required some hardcore cleaning to the point they had to numb me up.

After the extreme cleaning they did on my teeth and gums my mouth wouldn't close straight and it seemed like my lip was swollen.  I'm still recovering a bit from the cleaning, my molars hurt a bit every now and then.

The dentist visits were probably the major thing that happened last week, but we did also get Health Insurance, Dental, and Vision set up through our jobs.  It's nice to have a secure job, and also we filed our taxes and will be getting a healthy return that will allow us to pay off some debt and save for the future.

Life is good that you sometimes have to make cupcakes and that's what Rebekah and Veronica did together on Sunday.

Side Projects, Library Cards, and Meal Plans

Here we have a super happy 4 year old coming back from the Provo Library with her very own library card, a bag full of books and a goal to read a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Rebekah has started a new tradition of taking Veronica to the Provo Library once a month.  It's an awesome tradition and I'll have to join them this month.

I have an awesome job that allows me to go out and work on side projects.  In this projects I got to help my friend Scott Winn make a sequel to his Stormtrooper Twerk Video. We probably had 5 or more cameras in addition to what you see in the picture. This shoot was sort of a hidden camera prank involving the Stormtroopers.  You can check out the Stormtrooper Twerk video below.

This was the first one he made with my Ghetto Blaster making a cameo. Sadly, the sequel project won't be made due to BYU putting restrictions on what can be filmed on their campus so they are going to be reshooting the video at the U of U.  I won't be able to go up for that filming just because this week is packed with work and family projects.

For this week I've taken over the meal plan duties to try and save money and start cooking more often. For dinner tonight we had Sirloin Steak, rice, and veggies.  Part of the meal plan involves us cooking together and also two days of eating out as a family.  We all need a little break from the kitchen.

One more thing that happened this week was Veronica and I went on a daddy daughter date and I took her to Chick-fil-A to eat, then we went to Old Navy where she got two shirts, and then to Best Buy where we got her, her very own Hello Kitty Alarm Clock.

Oh and I wanted the Seahawks to win since I lived in Washington State during 6th grade and Seattle is an awesome place!

New Hair Cuts and Sick Days

Here we have our beautiful 4 year old getting her first hair cut from a member of our ward.  Rebekah also got a hair cut and I plan to get one myself.  Getting a hair cut can feel so refreshing and I think we all need to feel that way every day, every week, and every month, and of course every year!

This year has started with a lot of challenges, opportunities, blessings, and learning experiences.  I've learned that Rebekah has learned to be really patient with me when I'm sick.  I'm the worst person to be around when I don't feel well.  I complain a lot, I can easily be set off, and if you thought I was passive aggressive on normal days, I'm plotting revenge every second I feel pain.  At the same time I get be a big baby.  So that's why I normally shut myself off from the world and try to just sleep.  I know I'm not going to be pleasant to be around and sleeping makes the recovery processes a lot faster.

The reason I explain my sick rant is because I've been sick for the majority of this year.  I went from having strep/tonsillitis to fully recovering and being back at 100% for 2-3 days to having a head cold for the rest of this week hitting the climax on Saturday, which is the worst day to be sick because it's suppose to be a day you can have fun, but instead it was filled with arguments, complaints, and laying around the house with frequent trips to the restroom to blow my nose and hack up a lung.

But enough about being sick let me share with you the awesome experiences of the week.

I finished reading a new book I purchased last week called Unlabel: Selling Yourself Without Selling Out so far this year I've read two books this one and David and Goliath by Malcom Gladwell. Both books have inspired me to be better and figure out how to get a better grasp at realizing my own dreams.

Here is Rebekah wearing the new outfit she got at H&M when we went on our date last week.  Looking gorgeous as ever. One thing she's always felt that she struggles with is finding her own style and knowing what clothes to wear. The advice I have to offer her is to fake it till you make it. Also style/trends change every year so look at what's out there try it out and if you feel comfortable in it stay with it until you look out a date, which usually happens around Spring.  Things I use to do to manage my wardrobe was sticking to just a handful of brands and color pallets.  I suggest doing the same to anyone having a hard time finding their own style.

Rebekah is always such a great example when it comes to eating healthy.  She's always working hard at doing her part when it's so much easier to just get McDonalds. Next month I'm actually going to start putting on the apron and getting my hands dirty in the kitchen so we'll see if the meals are good enough to post on Instagram.

Not only is Rebekah awesome with taking care of herself and everyone in the house she is a great teacher. She always finds the time to teach Veronica something new. At the moment she's teaching her math and so far Veronica can add and subtract.

This week we got to go to a UVU Basketball game thanks to Vivint. It was a good game, UVU won, but all Veronica cared about was the dancers so once the game ended she went down and got a picture with them. It was fun to go out as a family.

So that's everything we've been up to this week our heater still doesn't work so we're using space heaters for every room.  It's been interesting considering we keep blowing out the breaker when we have too many appliances on so we also tend to leave the lights off in most of the house.

Until next time!

Like We Use To

On Saturday this week I took the wifey out on a date.  We ate at Costa Vida, went shopping at H&M and then had some ice cream at Cold Stone.

We hadn't been on a date like this in awhile and we had a great time! Even had a real good night if you know what I mean (Grown Up Stuff).

I've finally gotten over my illness even though I have 2 more days of my medication left.  Also Naomi has been learning and doing new things all week.

She now rotates in her bouncer and actually bounces in it.  She has so much fun trying to eat all the contraptions on it.  She now sits up if we spread her legs just right.  She'll stay sitting until she reaches for something and then its straight onto her tummy.

Veronica this week got to spend time with her friend Miles.  Here they are playing candy land and war.

Rebekah is always good about capturing the moments on her Instagram account.  Me on the other hand I've been slacking a bit.

This week was reminiscent of the times Rebekah and I use to have.  Going out on fun dates, Veronica playing with her friends, and when Veronica was a baby seeing her learn and grow, but now we see it with Naomi.

Probably the challenging thing we faced this week was having our heater not work.  We've resorted to using space heaters I purchased two from Amazon and we also borrowed some from friends while the ones we ordered come in.  Now we'll see how bad our electric bill gets considering we'll mainly be using space heaters to heat each room.

Be Consistent and Learn to Finish

Rebekah works hard everyday to eat healthy and she does her best. For having given birth to two beautiful girls, her body is still delicious! I recommend you follow her on Instagram where she posts all her yummy healthy foods.

I tend to be the one you breaks the healthy habits when I decide she doesn't need to cook and I order Pizza! But not just any pizza, Papa John's.  The reason is Rebekah likes Papa John's and so for the past few months I've been trying to get enough points to get a free one and I finally did it!

Not a lot of exciting things happened this week.  Even though I had planned to take Bekah to an awesome Hip Hop Performance show title They Reminisce, but on the day I fell really ill.

Turns out I got Strep Throat or Tonsillitis.  I got a fever for a few days, lots of bathroom runs, and tonsils swollen to the point of having my throat feel like its shut.  I was mostly dehydrated for 2 days straight because as much water as I drank I would then spit every 5 minutes and go to the bathroom every hour and because of all the mouth breathing you have to do you just get dehydrated faster.

Tomorrow I get to go the Vivint Clinic and get my medication on and start recovering soon.  I did have my brother Julio give me a blessing tonight so I should be good in no time.

Let's end this week on a good note.  Since I couldn't take Bekah to the Show on Friday I had Julio take my car and tickets so he got to go on a date.  I think I'll take Rebekah shopping next Friday since we get paid and we have enough in the budget for some shopping.

As I come to a close I realized I title this post Be Consistent and Learn to Finish.  This has to do with a principle I taught the family last week.  Finishing what you start makes your life a whole lot easier.  It keeps the house clean, projects on time, and goals met.  That's not to say you have to finish perfectly, but being consistent at it helps you maintain.  And sometimes just maintaining one day can go a long way the next day.  We all need a little maintenance and finishing what you start in a consistent manner will keep you and your family polished and brand new.

And speaking about consistency Naomi likes avocados

The Return of the Ambriz Family in 2014

Did you miss us?

Well, I have to say we missed you.

We sadly let time pass us by without letting you know what we were up to.  Now I guess I could do a quick recap or I we could just move forward and leave a few gems here and there about what we've been up to.

You might have noticed in the picture there is a little baby girl crying her head off.  She's our little Naomi who is 4 months old, rolling over, and has begun teething.  Our big girl Veronica is 4 years old and is now in CTR 4 in the Primary.  Rebekah is still working at Vivint and recently got a raise.  And me, Anthony I'm started working at Vivint in September and became Employee of the Month in December.

The goal this year as a family, but mostly my personal goal is to write a new blog post every week and on occasions if time permits, a post when it matters most.

The New Year started off right.  I took Rebekah to watch a movie: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.  We all set up New Year's Resolutions and one we all have in common is to read the Book of Mormon.  We've started working on our savings plan and are currently at $700 and I even did a little freelance work the other day.  I'll share more about what happens next week since this week was a bit short.  But here are some pictures with a few explanations.

At work when you become Employee of the Month a picture of your head blown up making a silly face is put up on the wall and someone then attaches a little body to it.  On mine I was given a gangsta body.

You are also awarded a trophy that you must add something to it.  This is the 2013 trophy meaning I was the last to have it so I made sure to make it gangsta! Added the gold chain so you can put it around your neck.

On Saturday I went and freelanced for the band, Oh Be Clever.  Brittney is a fabulous singer and the songs were really good.

We all made sure to have our New Year's Resolutions finished so we can begin working on them tomorrow!

Rebekah was so excited to feed Naomi real food, but it didn't work out as planned.  The food would just fall out of her mouth and she would start sucking on the spoon and kept trying to grab it.

Rebekah and Veronica worked on building a Ginger Bread House and it turned out fantastic.  It was a Christmas Gift they got and hadn't had the chance to use it so why not today.

Rebekah is always trying to eat heathy so she started doing more food prep for the week.  Man that chicken looks good!

Let us know what kind of stuff you want us to write about in our family blog and leave us a comment?

How Are Your Goals?

Month two of 2013 about this time most people have forgotten their New Years Resolutions or have failed to keep them and given up.  Here at the Ambriz home I have to say we're in the same boat.  But we've also decided to re-evaluate the situation and get back on land and jump on the horse.  (See what I did there flipped it with some analogies or sayings).

Anyway, the re-evauluating of goals is something that should be done weekly if not daily.  Bekah and I have decided to take time everyday to talk about our goals.  At 7:30PM every night we're going to get our little girl ready for bed.  By the time she falls to sleep around 8:30PM we'll use that time to clean up the house together. After that we'll get ready for bed and then sit down and talk about our day, our goals, and anything we want to discuss.

We're both fairly busy on a daily basis so we need to be able to set time aside everyday to do this.  This coming week we're going to put it to the test and see what happens.

Not much else to say about what's been going on.  Veronica was sick for a few days, but she is doing a lot better.  Rebekah hasn't been feeling to well, but she's signed up for medical, dental, and vision so we'll all be taken care of this year.  I'm going to start working 40 hours a week and uploading videos on my YouTube Channels again.  My job, BodyGuardz is awesome that they were willing to do this video:

Expensive Dinners and Good Times

This week brought with it some new experiences some of which we'll save for our next post because we have to take a few pictures.

Let's start off with some bigger events.  Xavier no longer lives with us.  He has gone off on his own to be an adult, which is good for him and good for us.  We deeply care for Xavier and want the best for him.  Having him with us was good, but after awhile it felt like having another child that wasn't our child.

This week we went to the Romano's Macaroni Grill. Probably the most expensive family dinner date I've ever had to pay for.  But Rebekah and I needed this.  We both had a tough week at work and needed to get out of the house and spend sometime together as a family.  I didn't want Rebekah to cook and I wanted her to enjoy something tasty.  I had never been so it was a new experience for me. Veronica got mac and cheese, Bekah got Fisichiti Alfredo and I got the spiciest sausage pizza I've ever eaten in my life.  It was delicious, but each bite was painful.  What was the tab? $38 drawing on the table was fun, but that's probably the last time we're going there this year.

The Ambriz family appreciate the arts in fact I visited the BYU Museum this week to get my mind off of all the things that were going on.  I got to enjoy the We Might Be Heroes exhibit and saw things like this.

And this.

Bekah did some arts and crafts with Veronica and made this which could definitely go in a museum.

I have to say though the biggest highlight of the week was seeing our little Veronica say the 1st Article of Faith all by herself.  Rebekah had made a study guide for her and practiced with her on Saturday and Sunday morning.  She's such a good mommy and our little girl is so smart.  I'm a proud Papa!
