THE VACATION IS OVER!

Last week Rebekah, Veronica, and I went on a family vacation to California to celebrate our littles turning 6 years old.

She had a blast! She smiled and laughed all day. It was one surprise after another each day was a new experience for her. Rebekah and I also had a ton of fun even though Rebekah had an injured foot and I'm so out of shape and was going off very little sleep. We made it through and enjoyed every minute of it.

We didn't get to post our videos up during our vacation because our days were as follows. up at 6AM and back at the hotel by midnight. The Internet at our hotel wasn't that great either. But this week I'll be taking the hours of footage and making them into 10 minute videos. Most likely be Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and so forth. I also had a plan of creating a special video for Veronica, which was put on hold. But I do plan to create it and release it before the month ends.

Here is the vlog of our trip to California!

And here is the Vlog of the day before our big trip!

One More Week Until

Veronica Ambriz and Abraham Lincoln at Scheels

It's been a month and one week since we've been trying to teach our girls Spanish. We haven't been as consistent as we've wanted to be, but we're doing our best. It's difficult indeed to teach a 5 (soon to be 6 year old) and a 1.5 year old Spanish.

This month has brought with it some unique opportunities such as:

Being able to give a friend a MacBook Pro laptop to use for editing his daily vlogs.

Going shopping for our trip to California, which I'll talk more in our next blog post.

We had a super fun Saturday going shopping for the summer and going to Scheels for the first time. Rebekah and I finally got to go on a date. We went on a double date to Keys on Main, a dueling piano bar in Salt Lake City, Utah.

And we openly let the world know that we're Mormon in our vlog. I know we're been fairly open about it in our blog, but this was the first time talking about it in our vlogs.

One more week until we hit the road to California for a whole week of fun at Disneyland, California Adventure, and all the beaches we can visit!

One Whole Month of Vlogging!

We've been vlogging for one whole month! Super exciting to know we've created 31 videos in 31 days. A video a day seems crazy.

What's amazing about vlogging is that we can now go back to any of those days in May and see what memories we made. (Not all days because there were some we just took a break, but still made something for people to watch and enjoy).

As of right now I feel we will continue doing daily vlogs for about 7 years. The 5 years it takes us to move to Cancun, Mexico and the 1 year we spend there and the year we return to the United States. Maybe we continue after that, who knows, but as of now we love it.

We've made some new friends along our vlogging journey. We've also gotten out of our comfort zone and had some fun adventures.

I can truly say vlogging changes your life. Not only do you become more self aware, accountable for your own actions, but you become accountable to others as they view your life.

Well, that's enough writing for today. Here is the playlist that shows are entire month of May.

Daily Vlogs And Weekly Blogs

Ever since starting our daily vlogging adventure, which by the way we've kept going for a full two weeks now!

We've noticed it's a bit difficult to blog, but it's not like we were any good at being consistent with our blog. I guess because it was a lot harder for me to get Rebekah to blog than it has been to get her to vlog.

But we're keeping the blog alive! Maybe in the future we turn it into something bigger?! Like a full blown website!!!!! With merchandise, Spanish lessons, and other fun goodies?

Actually no! We wouldn't do that unless it was something that our viewers wanted. And all this that we're doing is mainly done to keep awesome memories, show our family and friends what we're up to, and to document our experience in teaching our girls Spanish and speaking Spanish a lot more.

We haven't been all that great at it, but we're taking it one step at a time. We really appreciate the love and support from family and friends, and even strangers.

We're doing our best to get comfortable at vlogging so we can focus more on the actual teaching of Spanish and incorporating it more. This week coming up we're going to try and do an entire vlog in Spanish except for when we have to translate for the girls. We'll see how it goes, it should be fun.

The Ambriz Family Is Vlogging

It's been way too long!

Well, we're back and we have a special treat for all of you.

But first let's do a quick recap.

  1. Anthony is working full-time at Connor Group/ Solden Services as their Senior Brand Marketing Manager.
  2. Anthony is no longer doing freelance and/or consulting work for the time being.
  3. Anthony is working with some friends to partner up on a new business venture, but this won't require him to leave his job anytime soon.
  4. Rebekah received a raise for being an awesome employee at Vivint!
  5. Veronica finished off her first soccer season and won the last game she played.
  6. Naomi is talking a lot more and saying a few words here and there.
Not sure if I left anything out, but that's the recap.

Now to the big news!

Yes, we started vlogging and documenting our lives for people to see. Those people are mainly family, friends, and anyone curious about how to raise bilingual daughters and teach your wife Spanish.

That is the whole premise of our vlogs. Sure it will show what we are up to, but it will focus on learning Spanish, speaking Spanish, and becoming bilingual. It was also be a way to document our progress so that in 5 years we leave the United States and move to Cancun, Mexico for 1 year.

Here are the first two vlogs we've made so far.

Let us know what you think and also enjoy this fun gallery of pictures we've recently taken!

Pour You Out A Blessing...

The girls

... that there shall not be room enough to receive it. [Mal. 3:10]
My lovely wife Rebekah does a lot for our family. She's been the major bread winner for the past 2 months putting in full-time at work and full/part-time at home during the evenings and weekends.

She even does her best to give me as much time as she can, but I still prefer her to give as much time as she can with the girls.

Veronica is growing up so fast, but she's still our little girl.

Post by Rebekah Ambriz.

Our baby Naomi has been doing great! She's walking around even though she's not suppose to, also if you ever give her your phone she'll take a selfie with it.

So the blessings that the Lord pours out upon the Ambriz family is that we're healthy, happy, and Anthony got a job.

I'll be sure to tell you more about it, but you'll have to visit my personal blog for that, but that post won't be ready until Tuesday.

But here are some of the fun experience I had this week.

Hung out with some new friends Todd and Joe from Kuma Films

I also went to OR otherwise known as Outdoor Retailer, which is a big convention for outdoor retailers. I was there on my first job assignment. It was pretty cool and hope to be there again next year.

To end the week we met and made some new friends. The Dyches Family are vloggers, which means they make YouTube videos about their life. CLICK HERE to see the video we're in.

Also our flower we got for Christmas is blooming. Things are looking great for our family.

The Obstacle Is The Way

I haven't had the pleasure of reading this book, but it was recommended to me by a friend going through similar struggles. He had left his job to pursue a great opportunity that turned out to be a scam. And so has been without a job for a few months now.

We ended 2014 and started 2015 in the same situation and as you've read in our previous post our little girl got hurt, and Rebekah has been stressed out from work. So we've faced some obstacles, but nothing that has prevented us from picking ourselves up and move forward. We have a lot of you prayer for our family and offering us help. Thank you all.

Before

During

After

For our family night activity last week we decorated Naomi's cast!

Anthony colored this one

Veronica colored this one

And in order to spend more daddy daughter time with Veronica I got myself a set of color pencils to color with her.

As a way to get fit Julio, Rebekah, Anthony and a ton of our friends compete every week to see who will get the most steps using our Fitbits. It's tons of fun and challenging.

Rebekah and I have also signed up for the Rex Lee 5k coming in March.

Naomi's Leg Broke

On Tuesday, January 6th our little toddler was taken to urgent care where we found out that her tibia was broken. It happened when she was in day care and we're not sure how it happened. We think a kid might have fallen or stepped on her leg, but it happened during lunch time.

She's a brave girl and she's doing just fine two days later we went to the orthopedic to have her cast put on.

Once it was on she got a little sad about her toes and foot.

Just thinking about life
We ended the week on a high note. By Saturday Naomi was crawling all over the place and having fun. We had a movie night (afternoon) watched The Boxtrolls and ate a ton of junk food.

Also danced around with Veronica and taught her some ballet.
First position

Another thing that Veronica loves doing is arts and crafts. She took an old sock she found and turned it into a puppet.

Rebekah's been a bit stressed out and I've been doing my best to calm her down. Not sure what she get's stressed out about so much. But I love her and she's doing good.

I on the other hand have been doing really well. I had two job interviews this week. One with Connor Group for the Social Media Manager position and Clearlink for their Digital Marketer position. I also got an email to be interviewed at HireEducation for their Creative Producer position this upcoming Monday. All jobs that I know I could knock out of the park and that I know I would enjoy doing.

On another note. My brother and I have been competing all week with our Fitbit wearables. They're basically awesome fitness trackers that get you motivated. He won the weekday challenge, but I'm sure I'll be beating him on the weekend challenge.

Family Road Trip to Arizona and Our Plans for the New Year

Back in Utah and ready for church
For Rebekah's Christmas present I decided to surprise her with a trip to Arizona to be with her family.  The girls were excited to go, mostly Veronica because she loves seeing her Aunt Abbey and Emma.

What was awesome about this trip is that it was a huge surprise to Rebekah's family because they didn't know we were coming.

While in Arizona we stayed at Rebekah's sister's new house. A house that Rebekah claims is her dream home. It's a nice home I'm just not a fan of master bedrooms on the first floor. ha ha.

We're super grateful that we got to stay with Jarrod and Sarah because they hooked us up with a good bed to sleep on and some great food! It was also fun to go on a double date, which was their treat as part of our Christmas present.

Here is the breakdown of our trip.
Saturday night we arrived and I got ridiculously sick, so missed out on the surprised faces of Rebekah's parents.
Sunday was just a relaxing day with the family.
Monday was the double date night. Most of these days I spent resting up as I tried to get over being sick.
Tuesday we had a party for Aunt Sydney.

Wednesday was New Year's Eve and we spent the day at a fun park and of course eating super delicious food prepared by Jarrod to bring in the New Year.

Thursday we headed back to Utah, but not before spending sometime with the family so we ended up leaving fairly late that day.

It was a great way to end and start the year.

The Journey

Welcome our new Dodge Journey.  This takes our little family to a whole new level. The crossover SUV that will be ready for another little Ambriz to come circa 2016 is the plan.

Rebekah earlier in the week got an email from the dealership asking if she was interested in selling back her 2002 Volkswagen Beetle, which I never liked.  I had let Rebekah get the Bug because she needed to make a dumb purchase in her life.  She loved that car and it got her to where she needed to go.  The only issue was we'd probably never be able to get rid of it and make a good return on it so once I saw that email I was like let's sell it back or trade it in.

Yesterday after getting my Lancer to the shop for a free oil change, getting a hair cut, and walking home with some Jamba Juice.  We got the family together and went to the dealership across the street.  The dealer suggested to us a Dodge Avenger and a Dodge 200, but I was curious about the Dodge Dart for Rebekah.  The original plan was to trade her car for a small car so she could have something to continue driving to work.  Then next year we would trade in my Lancer for a Crossover SUV.

The dealer then points out that they just got a Dodge Journey in that day and that we should check it out.  Now the Journey is similar to the Outlander that I had my eye on at Mitsubishi.  Also I have a thing about Japanese cars they seem more reliable.  Anyway I have Rebekah test drive the car and she falls in love with it.  The dealer than says we can have you take it for $350+ we say $250 is the max we can go. He then says what about $320 I say $280, and then he says $300.  So I do the math we currently paid $179 for Rebekah's bug so what's another $121 for this sweet ride that we plan on keeping until the kids are in high school. Boom sold! Then adding the gap insurance, maintenance, and all the other bonus things we went up to $316 which I feel is still affordable.

Here is Rebekah saying goodbye to her first car.  I was glad to get rid of it.

Now I'm hoping I can sell my car maybe next year and get myself a brand new Lancer with the works!
